Earth Wisdom & Belonging:
A Nature Based Retreat

Yachats, Oregon — Temenos Forest Sanctuary

September 1-4, 2023

Join us in exploring the inner and outer landscape through meditation and mindfulness practice in the natural world. One translation of Mindfulness is “to remember.” Come remember with us: our indisputable connection, belonging, and interdependence with the world we are born into. You are invited by the forested and peaceful setting to explore your relationship to the land directly, through slowing down, stillness, and contemplative practice. We will weave in Forest Bathing, movement, sit spots, and other nature-connection practices. These intersecting practices of meditation and nature connection provide skills for accessing your inner resources and building capacity to meet the challenges of your life with care, resiliency, and creativity.

This will be a partially silent retreat where you will practice the skills of mindfulness meditation through sitting and walking meditation periods. With guidance, Q&A, and some relational practice this retreat is suitable for any level of experience. We’ll commit to building a container of care and courage together, through shared agreements and by committing to mindfulness training while on retreat.

Movement will be offered each day and the opportunity to explore practice independently will be woven in. You will have free time to explore the property, roam the trails, and bask in the stillness and abundance of this sacred space. The forest, creeks, and nearby ocean provide space to reconnect to the beauty, joy, and abundance that is always available. Our intention is for you to leave feeling grounded, nourished, and re-connected.

We believe in the need for restorative time (amidst racial injustice, climate crisis, and the acute suffering of living in a pandemic) to show up with strength and stability for individual and collective well being.

Remember that you are deeply connected to the
world around you.
Remember that you belong.

This retreat will take place on 5 magical acres of forest in Yachats, Oregon with dozens of forested acres surrounding and vast expanses of national forest just steps away. You are invited to camp in the forest (or stay nearby), let the sound of the ocean lull you to sleep, and connect deeply with the trees and beings of this land. The ocean is a 15 minute walk, mostly through the forest and there are various creeks to enjoy on and around the property. This space offers itself for deep healing and alignment with your highest self. You will likely go home having the land and its inhabitants wedged deeply into your being.

No experience necessary; just an open heart and willingness to connect with the sacred relationships of our deepest selves, Mother Earth, and beloved community.

This gathering is open to 12 participants and we will be the only group on site.

***All those that identify with their feminine are welcome.

When you open yourself to the continually changing, impermanent, dynamic nature of your own being and of reality, you increase your capacity to love and care about other people and your capacity not to be afraid.

Inclusivity:

We ask that our participants be committed to the ongoing learning and awareness of how white supremacy negatively impacts all life, especially black and brown people. In an effort to support an inclusive space, we know this work, this dismantling of systemic oppression, is essential to sharing healing spaces and to supporting the collective liberation for all beings.

COVID Precautions:

We will be the only group on site. We will follow strict hygiene protocols. In preparations for the retreat and during our time together, we will do everything we can to protect you, the facilitators, and the community. Reach out to learn more about our COVID Protocols prior to registration.
