This retreat is designed to give you a place to slow down, reflect, and explore what needs tending in your life so that you can show up with more joy, ease, stability, and calm for your yourself and those you love. Many of us move through our lives feeling rushed, overwhelmed, and with little time for ourself amidst the demands of work, parenting or supporting family and friends, and so on. Or we are just tired. And if we do “take time away” it is often with others or busy. This solo retreat is an opportunity for you to pause and reset, to take time alone on the land where your deeper knowing and wise self has time to greet you.
The retreat container is held by the forest and gently supported by your guide, Irene. You will camp on 5 private acres in your own sacred space in the forest and nearby to where Irene lives. You will be greeted on arrival to settle in and get invitations to support your open time on the land, be guided in a medicine walk during your stay, and have a short closing before departure. This retreat offers a quiet and safe space for you to spend time alone in the natural world so that you can lower your guard and open your heart while also feeling lightly supported.
This offering comes from Irene’s personal experience of spending time on this land learning about trust, courage, and ease and how to listen deeply to the earth’s wisdom as she navigated a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. In the last few years, the land has offered wisdom and calm to many retreat participants. It is a space of nourishment and healing that is meant to be shared with others as they navigate life in all its fullness.
There is an outdoor kitchen with dish station and fire pit + hangout area set up for your use. You may choose to set up your own private kitchen. There may be up to 3 other people camping and you can choose to be more solitary or engage with others.
The gift of time and space alone
Some of us crave time and space alone on the land so that we can see more clearly or feel more grounded and stable. For others it can feel uncomfortable to commit to being alone. It is all welcome and the simple commitment to go and spend a few days alone and curious is enough. Sometimes we need to listen to the deeper knowing that we need some time to be with ourselves and tend what is calling for our attention. It is a gift of space to turn inwards and nurture one’s self.
Your open time on retreat may include walks in the forest or on the beach, time to journal and reflect, rest, song, meditation, campfire, or whatever you feel called to. Optional ideas for how to connect with the land and explore trust will be shared.
being lightly held and guided
Irene offers a steady, gentle presence that allows you to soften, relax, and listen. You will be met on arrival to get the layout of the land, share your intention for your time, receive on the land invitations, and ask any questions.
A guided medicine walk is included in your retreat to offer support for connecting more deeply with the land. A medicine walk is a simple wander where you carry a question or intention onto the land, letting nature share its wisdom in its own way. The trees, wind, and earth become your teachers and the “medicine” is what they share with you about your intention or question. You will meet with Irene before you go out to learn about the process and to share your intention and again once you return to share your story. The medicine walk can last from 1 to 3 hours depending on your preference.
You can choose to add extra guided offerings at an additional cost. You may add a guided ceremony or a 1:1 visioning session. The option to camp for additional nights is also possible.
setting an intention
For this two-night, three-day solo camping journey, you are invited to arrive with a clear and personal intention—something that feels alive in you and ready for exploring or tending. The forest and ocean offers a spacious and grounded container to explore this intention, held by the quiet presence of the earth. Bring your joys, questions, challenges, grief or the simple intention to slow down and be—whatever needs your attention now.
Come with openness and curiosity, and let the earth meet you in this sacred pause.
This retreat is for you if:
You’re seeking some quiet and alone time for any reason
You’re curious how the earth and land can support and guide you in your life so that you can more easily access your inner knowing
You’re exhausted from doing it “all” and want time to rebalance and realign
You have a challenging decision you’re trying to make and need support
You’re dealing with uncertainty and/ or fear in a medical diagnosis and want more ease or clarity
You’re experiencing an impactful and/ or disruptive life transition and need to find more steadiness
You desire a deeper trust of yourself and life so that you can live a more aligned and purposeful life
the location
You will be camping at Temenos Forest Sanctuary, a private, beautiful, and sacred 5-acre forested property 2 miles north of Yachats. It is truly a spectacular place to camp and call home for a few days. The ocean is a 15 minute walk, mostly through the forest, and there are various creeks to enjoy on and around the property. This space offers itself for deep nourishment and calm. You will likely go home having the land and its inhabitants wedged deeply into your heart.
There are 10 campsites to choose from and there will be no more than 4 people camping at the same time. You will set up your tent among the trees and have access to an outdoor kitchen and fire pit. There is a nice outhouse on site. Irene will be on site during your stay for any support that is needed.
* Option to stay nearby in hotel/ Airbnb (at additional cost) and spend your days on the land.
